The Haryana Public Service Commission has released the Haryana Judicial Services Recruitment 2021 Notification for Civil Judge (Junior Division) posts in Punjab and Haryana High courts. Haryana Civil Judge Exam Pattern
The selection of suitable candidates for appointment in HCS (Judicial Branch) will be made by holding an examination. The examination shall be conducted in three stages namely:-
(i) Preliminary Examination.
(ii) Main Written Examination.
Exam Pattern of Preliminary Examination

Each question shall carry 04 marks and for every wrong answer 0.80 i.e. 20% or say 1/5th mark shall be deducted. There will, however, be no negative marking in respect of unattempted questions. General candidates are required to secure a minimum of 150 marks to appear for the main examination (100 marks for reserved categories).
Syllabus of Preliminary Examination
Candidates shall be expected to have a general and basic overview of the main subjects and also the ability to answer questions on -
- Current events of national and international importance
- Indian legal and constitutional history and governance
- Analytical skills
- Reasoning and
The objective type of multiple-choice questions for the Preliminary Examination shall be from the syllabus for the Main Written Examination. The standard of the question paper shall be of Law graduate level.
Mains Exam Pattern & Syllabus
The Mains Exam consists of questions from five subjects- Civil Law I, Civil Law II, Criminal Law III, English, Language (Hindi in Devanagari Script). Candidates in the general category have to obtain 50% marks in the mains exam to get shortlisted for the viva-voice. For the reserved category, the qualifying marks are 45%. The marking scheme for each subject is as follows:

The English paper will be of 200 marks and consist of the following:-

Candidates clearing the mains are shortlisted for interview/viva-voice with a total evaluation of 200 marks. You have to score a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate of Mains and Interview to make it to the final merit list.
|Paper-VI Viva-Voce||To judge the personal qualities of the candidates. The viva-voice shall relate to matters of general interest and is intended to test the candidates’ alertness, intelligence, and general outlook. It shall be conducted in English.||200 Marks|
Haryana Civil Judge Eligibility Criteria
Candidates need to have a degree of Bachelor of Laws from a University established by the law and approved/recognized by the Bar Council of India. The expression "Degree of Bachelor of Laws" means a degree entitling a candidate to be enrolled as an Advocate under the Advocate Act, 1961, and the rules made there under.
Candidates should not be less than 21 years and not more than 42 years as on 15.02.2021 i.e. closing date to apply for the post.
Candidate must be (a) a citizen of India or (b) a citizen of Nepal, or (c) a subject of Bhutan or (d) a Tibetan Refugee who came over to India, before the 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or (e) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka and East African countries of Kenya, Uganda and the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly -Tanganyika and Zanzibar) Zambia, Malawi, Zaire and Ethiopia with the intention of permanently settling in India.
